Flaked Rice fry

Ingredients


  1. Flaked rice                      1 cup
  2. Turmeric                         1/2 tsp
  3. Salt                                11/2 tsp
  4. Water                               1/4 cup
For seasoning
  1. Grated coconut               [optional]
  2. Onion                             2 sliced
  3. Green chilis                    6 slit
  4. Mustard seeds                1 tsp
  5. Urad dhal                       1 tsp
  6. Bengal gram dhal          1 tsp
  7. Asafoetida                     1/4 tsp
  8. Oil                                 1 tbsp
  9. Curry leaves                  few
  10. Coriander leaves           for garnishing
Method
  • Wash flaked rice 3 or 4 times.
  • Add salt, turmeric, water, and soak for 1 hour.
  • Heat oil add seasoning, curry leaves, Asafoetida and chilis.
  • Fry for a while and add onion till translucent.
  • Now add flaked rice, coconut, and mix well.
  • Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve with curd.
