INGREDIENTS:-
- Flaked red rice 7 cups
- Onion 2 big
- Green chilies 10
- Coconut 1/2 cup
- Water 1 1/2 cups
- Turmeric 1 tsp
- Salt 3 tsp
- Coriander leaves handful
FOR SEASONING:-
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- Urad dhal 1 tsp
- Bengal gram dhal 2 tsp
- Hing 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves 10
- Oil 3 tbsps
METHOD:-
- Mix water, salt, turmeric and dissolve salt.
- Mix the saltwater to flaked rice and soak for an hour.
- Slice onion, slit green chilies, scrape coconut.
- Heat oil add seasoning, splutter mustard seeds, fry dhal.
- Add onion, curry leaves, and fry till translucent.
- Add flaked rice and fry for 2 or 3 minutes with closed the lid, cook on low flame.
- Garnish with coconut and coriander leaves.
