Ingredients
- Rice 1 cup
- Sugar 1 1/2 cups
- Cardamom 6 powder
- Water 6 cups +1/2 cup
- Coconut 1/2 cup[cut into small pieces]
- Roasted gram 1/4 cup
- Sugar 1 cup
Method
- Wash rice and soak for 5 hours.
- Grind to a smooth paste. Add water.
- The batter should be very thin consistency.
- Take a heavy-bottomed vessel add sugar and 1/2 cup water.
- Bring to boil and add the rice batter to it. Stir fastly.
- Cook on a low flame. Add coconut and roasted gram.
- Keep on stirring until the rice mixture gets thickened.
- The dough looks shining if cooked. Off the stove.
- Now add powdered cardamom. Mix thoroughly.
- Spread wet cloth on a table or broad plate.
- Take a ladleful rice cake and put it on the wet cloth.
- Close another wet cloth on the top, so the cakes won't dry.
- Cool it and have the tasty, yummy elabalittu.
