Ingredients
- Channa dhal 1 cup
- Onion 2 nos
- Green chilis 6
- Ginger-Garlic paste 1 tsp
- Coconut 1/2 cup grated
- Coriander leaves handful
- Water 4 cups
- Salt 1 tsp
For seasoning
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- Urad dhal 1 tsp
- Bengal gram 1 tsp
- Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves 10
Method
- Soak dhal for at least 8 hours.
- Boil the dhal adding water and salt for 8 whistles.
- Drain water and cool down.
- Slice onion, Chop coriander leaves, Slit chilis
- Heat oil in a Kadai add seasoning, curry leaves, asafoetida.
- Add onion and chilis fry till translucent.
- Now add ginger-garlic paste mix up and close the lid.
- Fry for 2 minutes and add boiled channa.
- Mix them and add coconut, close the lid for 2 minutes.
- Finally add coriander leaves and serve.
