Gulaab Jamoon

Ingredients

  1. Milkmaid tin                             1
  2. Maida                                        1/2 kg
  3. Baking Soda                              1/4 tsp
  4. Ghee                                          1 cup
  5. Oil                                              for frying
  6. Salt                                             a pinch               
For Syrup
  1. Sugar                                   1 kg[5 cups]
  2. Water                                   5 cups water
  3. Cardamom powder              1 tsp            
  4. Rosewater                            1 tsp
Method
  • Boil water add sugar and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add cardamom powder and rose water.
  • Sieve maida, salt, soda add ghee.
  • Mix thoroughly and now add milkmaid.
  • Knead to a smooth dough. Close the lid and keep it in a warm place for 1/2 an hour.
  • Prepare smalls balls out of dough.
  • Heat oil fry balls to dark brown and put them in hot syrup.
  • Let the jamoon soak for 2 hours.
  • Serve hot or cold.
