LENTIL [NUTHU PORUPPU]THICK GRAVY


INGREDIENTS

1 cup lentils[tur dhal]
4 green chilies
2 garlic pods
4 small onions
4 cups of water
1/2 tsp Castor oil
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp badaga[dried salted onion]
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
little curry leaves

METHOD

Cook lentils in a bowl by adding castor oil,green chillies,onions,garlic,turmeric and 4 cups of water.
3/4 of cooking is enough.Don't mash it.Drain water and cool it.
Heat oil add coriander seeds ,seasoning and curry leaves.
Add to the dhal and grind to a smooth paste by adding salt and dhal water if necessary.
Serve with ghee or gingely oil. It tastes very good and  a good aroma too.
It goes well with rice.
