Bread chat



Ingredients:
  1. Bread                                 -   10 slices
  2. Dry peas                            -   1 cup soaked over night                          
  3. Potato                               -    1 big
  4. Coconut                             -   1/2 grated
  5. Sombu[Fennel seeds]         -   11/2tsp
  6. Cinnamon                          -   11/2"
  7. Cloves                              -    6
  8. Coriander powder            -   1tbsp                                                          
  9. Ginger,Garlic paste          -     11/2ts
  10. Chilly powder                  -     11/2tsp
  11. Turmeric                            -   1/4tsp                  
  12. Garam masala                  -     1tsp
  13. Onion                              -     3 big                                                                                    
  14. Carrot                             -     3
  15. Coriander leaves             -     1 bunch                                                                        
  16. Curry leaves                   -      few                                                      
  17. Oil                                 -       2tbsp                                                                                     
  18. Tomato                          -      2
  19. Cucumber                      -      1                                                                     
  20. Salt                                -      to taste
  21. Water                             -     6 cups                                      
For Seasoning :
  1. Mustard seeds               -     1/4tsp
  2. Urad Dal                       -     1/2tsp
  3. Bengal Gram Dal           -     1tsp
  4. Bay leaf                         -     1
Method:
  • Boil peas with enough water till soft.
  • Slice 1 onion,cut potato to small pieces.
  • Wash and cut coriander leaves .Grate carrot and slice 2 onion .
  • Cut tomatoes and cucumber separately.
  • Grind Coconut,Fennel seeds,Cinnamon,Cloves and handful of boiled peas.
  • Heat oil in pressure cooker add seasoning one by one.
  • Fry adding sliced onion,turmeric and curry leaves.
  • Now add boiled peas,potato and grounded masala adding water to it.
  • Add salt,chilly and coriander powder, stir well and bring to boil.
  • Simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.

For Serving:
  • Cut  2  Bread slice to 8 square pieces.
  • Arrange in a serving plate.Pour ladle full peas kurma over bread.
  • Sprinkle Garam masala.
  • Add cut onion,carrot, cucumber,little tomato and finally coriander leaves on top .
  • This chat is very tasty.Every one likes it.
  • Proceed in the same way for every serving.
